After spending two days in Shkoder, we took a minibus on journey to Theth, a remote mountain village.The climb up to Valbona Pass is challenging, but every step was worth it, with sharp mountain ridges, deep valleys, and endless greenery below us. Every turn revealed new views that took our breath away.
After a day of hiking, we reached Valbona Valley and spent a night in a simple guesthouse. The warmth of the place felt like a hug after our adventure. It was a perfect end to a day filled with nature’s beauty. It’s one of the top places to visit in Shkoder, with an experience you won’t forget for years.
Take a Boat to Lumi i Shales (The Albanian Maldives)
Once you finish the Theth to Valbona hike, you can take a boat from Fierza to Koman. This ride is not just a trip; it’s an experience. The Shala River flows through breathtaking landscapes. With its giant mountains and clear waters, this place is often called “Maldives of Albania”.

Visiting the historic Mesi Bridge is a refreshing change after days of hiking and boating. We rented bikes to explore the stunning landscape. This gorgeous Ottoman bridge features 13 stone arches stretching over the Kir River. It’s an incredible reminder of the past, standing strong for centuries.
At just 8 km from town, you can easily catch a bus directly there. Don’t worry if you’re not a hardcore cyclist; the route is easy and offers stunning views. A visit here is a perfect blend of history and nature.

Marubi National Museum of Photography offers a window into Albania’s history. A perfect gem for a culture break from all landscapes and outdoor adventure.
